University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein develops "Post-Covid-Score"
Researchers at University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein are investigating Long COVID and, in the course of the COVIDOM study, have developed a score to help doctors refer patients to the right specialist. The score is intended to help classify the patients' symptoms. For this purpose, twelve possible symptom areas were identified, to which a point value is assigned depending on the severity of the complaints. According to the researchers, what is new is that this score represents the entire spectrum of symptoms.
According to the first author of the study, Prof. Bahmer, this score makes it possible to "[...] objectively distinguish between different degrees of severity of PCS symptoms".
