Connection between pre-existing conditions and Long COVID? Let us discuss the first conjectures
An evaluation by the Central Institute for Health Insurance Physicians (Zi) shows that some pre-existing conditions can increase the risk of Long COVID. However, people without pre-existing conditions can also develop Long COVID, although this is statistically less likely.

The Zi is a research institute in the legal form of a foundation under civil law. The sponsors of the foundation are the Associations of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians and the Federal Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians. As a central institution in the system of the Associations of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians, the Zi conducts research at the interface between science and practice on crucial questions of the outpatient care situation.
