NAKOS

At NAKOS, those affected and experts can find self-help organisations for long COVID sufferers, their relatives and coronavirus-related self-help groups from all over Germany.

Nationale Kontakt- und Informationsstelle zur Anregung und Unterstützung von Selbsthilfegruppen (NAKOS) (National Contact and Information Centre for the Encouragement and Support of Self-Help Groups) is the central nationwide contact point for community self-help in Germany. NAKOS works across all topics and its services are aimed at self-help groups, professionals and private individuals who want to know more about self-help. The work of NAKOS is funded by the Federal Ministry of Health and the statutory health insurance funds.

On the NAKOS knowledge portal, interested parties can find practical tips for their self-help activities as well as comprehensive specialist information. The online database includes the addresses of all self-help contact centres in Germany, which support the work of self-help groups at around 300 locations. In addition, more than 100 leaflets, brochures and other publications are available to order or download.

The NAKOS website also has a topic page on self-help and coronavirus. This topic page offers a database of coronavirus self-help groups, specialist articles on coronavirus self-help in Germany and practical information on self-help activities during the pandemic. This includes recommendations for digital exchanges and further information on contact points.
